Chefs cooking over open fire in front of a seated room

Rosalynn Experiences · HOT PLATE

Four chefs. Eight courses.
One winner.

Our live chef competition. Four chefs, two original dishes each, cooked and finished in front of the room across an eight-course tasting. Knives out, crowd judging, and nobody knows who wins until you decide.

The Format

A tasting menu and a competition, at the same time.

Most tasting menus happen somewhere you cannot see. This one happens three feet in front of you. Four chefs work the same room, the same fire, and the same clock — each sending two original dishes across an eight-course progression, plated and finished in the open.

There is no head judge and no panel. The room scores it. That is the whole point: the chefs are cooking for the people actually eating, and they find out what you thought before you leave.

How the Night Runs

Four rounds, eight plates.

The Details

What to expect.

The Room

One seating

A single seating for the whole room, so the competition runs as one continuous evening rather than turning over. Recent rounds have run at Maison Kasai in Downtown Los Angeles.

The Food

Eight courses

Two original dishes from each of the four chefs. Live fire, open plating, and dishes built to be judged rather than to be safe.

Tickets

From $165 a guest

Rounds are announced individually and sell as one-off nights. Current dates, venue and pricing are always on the events page.

Dietary requirements are handled — tell us when you book. In a competition format the chefs need notice, so the earlier the better.

Private & Brand

It travels.

The showdown format works as a private event — a company night, a product launch, a milestone birthday. Same structure, your room, and chefs matched to the audience.

We have run competition formats as brand activations where the judging becomes the engagement mechanic. Tell us the objective and we will tell you whether this is the right shape for it.

Booking Privately? Private buyouts start at +$20 per guest. Please inquire on our contact us form.
